Les photos ne reflètent pas l’état actuel du van, carrosserie abîmée, phare recollé au scotch et l’autre phare ne fonctionnait pas, un pare choc abîmé, les essuies glace très fatigués, une consommation excessive et un état de propreté intérieur et extérieur laissant vraiment à désirer. Et un accueil plus que sommaire de Jo. Malgré cela nous n’avons pas eu de problème et le road trip c’est bien déroulé. La taille du dougy était bien adapté aux routes et à notre attente. Nous avons adoré l’Ecosse. September 2025

The van was fine for the trip, but the communication with the company was terrible. The first messages on the app were fine, but then they started communicating by whatsapp and it felt like we were... inconvenient (even though we were on time for the pickup, everything had been discussed before and we didn't ask for anything else or any changes). It was ok, people can seem harsh by message. We agreed a specific time for the pickup, to "make sure there was someone there" at the delivery, but when we arrived we got a message telling us the person coming was late due to traffic -no problem, we don't mind waiting for a while. And then they started asking us to complete the pickup online, which included paying some stuff, and telling us we didn't need to follow the procedure goboony asks for: so I had to pay them through a link they sent, without having signed nothing, and with no evidence for nothing. It felt sketchy. I asked when the person coming to do the pickup was expected to arrive and their response was "they are not coming" (but they only told me when I asked), and started pressuring me into paying before their closing time (we had agreed on a pickup time on the afternoon), or they wouldn't give us the van. Everything felt so shady, (even the people talking to us clearly being foreigners too by the way they talked) we thought we were being scammed. But we had little choice, since we came from abroad and it was supposed to be our home for the following days... Luckily I thought to check the van and through the window I saw it was open and the keys on the seat- so I paid and we completed the process (but it certainly felt like no one had been on their way and stuck in traffic at any moment, and this was planned). We didn't need to communicate with them again until we gave the van back. Then, also, we were told to not expect anybody, but some people finally came. The man in charge was certainly rude, but the process was completed without incident. At the end, the trip was fine, and the van was as promised, but the communication was SO aggressive and rough, we felt terrible during the whole process -we were foreigners, stuck in a place we didn't know and with no much choice... we had a really bad time. It'd be nice if they worked on that aspect, that would greatly improve the experience. August 2025

It was a poor experience from the beginning. The manager of the company wanted to refuse us as too many people, no matter we wrote prior and the car had the needed seats, claiming Goboony is “just a platform” and no having time to read messages. After much trouble we finally got the car. We got none introduction to the car - the manager claimed to have an appointment -, and were referred to a video instead. The car was in very poor condition, the rooftop tent molding, the whole interior smelly and the equipment dirty. Driving felt very unsafe and every day we found new things broken. Return was a horrible experience of being asked to clean the already clean and kept waiting. We cannot at all recommend this campervan or the company! August 2025

⚠️Importante⚠️ Tornerei in Scozia, ma sicuramente non con questo furgone: il volante era completamente storto, il che non aiuta certo chi deve imparare a guidare a sinistra; era sporco (per fortuna ho portato le mie pentole da casa, perché quelle fornite erano sporche); le sue condizioni non corrispondevano alle foto (era graffiato e la parte dove si dovrebbe posizionare il cric per cambiare la ruota era staccata, rendendo complicato montare la ruota di scorta in caso di necessità). Il rapporto qualità-prezzo non vale assolutamente la pena. L'uomo che ci ha noleggiato il furgone ci ha semplicemente detto di guardare un video e, al ritorno, è stato maleducato, dicendo che avevamo sporcato delle pentole (che non abbiamo mai usato) e che dovevamo lavarle (vi ricordo che le spese di pulizia sono incluse e non sono economiche). Usare questo furgone rischia di rovinarvi la meravigliosa vacanza. August 2025

Helaas was Jo niet erg klantvriendelijk bij de overdracht en al helemaal niet bij en na de drop off. Hij was erg kortaf en wantrouwend. Wij hebben een rondreis met ons gezin gemaakt door Schotland. Mijn man en ik zijn met ons eigen camperbusje naar Schotland gereden, maar omdat die niet voor 4 mensen geschikt is, hadden we een camionette bij Jo gehuurd en zijn de kinderen (18 en 21) met de trein naar Edinburgh gekomen. Hoewel ik dit bij de boeking al had gecommuniceerd, bleef Jo zowel bij de overdracht als de dropoff hier maar op doorvragen en leek hij ons niet te geloven. Over de camionette waren we ook niet erg tevreden. Zowel de camionette als het keukengerei en het servies waren bij de overdracht matig schoon tot vies, de gordijntjes stonken en de kussens, die als matras dienden waren erg oncomfortabel. Bovendien was een van de zijdeuren van de camionette kapot, zat er speling in het stuur en was er een voorlamp kapot. Ook na de dropoff bleef Jo ons stalken met mailtjes over hoe het nu zat. We kwamen bij de dropoff namelijk met een gehuurde auto, omdat onze eigen campervan het had begeven. Maar ook dat leek hij niet te willen geloven. Na alle stress, die we rondom de eigen campervan al hadden gehad, was dit niet echt een fijne afsluiting van onze vakantie. August 2025

Everything went well. The handover was quick and efficient. We did almost 2000km and our little van was the perfect size for our trip. It allowed us to go everywhere and at the same time to enjoy a peaceful and cute home. We had a lot of fun. The fact that Jo's motorhome are homemade give you a very cozy feeling, especially when you meet the thousands of other campervan on the van, you always feel special, different, unique. It definitely did make the trip very much more enjoyable. Would recommend it 100%, it is the best you can get for such a good price. August 2025

No possibility of extending the reservation and returning the van later because we booked for the night... We arrive on site, the manager sends us a YouTube video to get all the explanations. I would have liked him to show me how the car's "automatic" system works.... He leaves the place urgently. We are still there and there: impossible to start the car. We watch the video, nothing to do. So we contacted the manager, who told us he had no solution. So we were stuck in a parking lot outside Edinburgh with no solution. Finally he arrives 1 hour/1 hour 30 minutes later to replace the battery which was flat, accusing us of having touched the fire... as if we could drain a car battery in a few minutes. In the end, 2 hours were wasted on our stay with no possibility of extending it. We were really pissed off. Also, the exterior of the vehicle matched the photos but not the interior. Too bad we chose it for the charm of the tartan curtains... which we didn't end up having. Otherwise, the van kitchen is well designed and practical. I do not recommend. August 2025

This was my first time using a motor home as well as driving a automatic or coming to Scotland. I was so impressed with how helpful everyone was when arrived they had a video on how to use it which help my confidence. Everything was there for us all packed all we brought was our bedding and music . Unfortunately as phones now change I was not able to use a aux for my phone but it was okay as we just listen to the radio. Unfortunately being my first time driving a automatic on the first day had it I accidentally press the handbrake which ment the brakes felt odd me being worrid I contacted them and by the next day they come and got me and checked it and exsplain my error. Jo was reasuring and I was of on my way in no time sika was amazing was very comfortable and I got to explore and most of all had the break I so desperately needed got to be off grid and have the mental health break I needed just surrounded by beauty and off grid no stress from life as signl no one could contact me which was bliss. Had amazing time surrounded by beautiful scenery. Everything was there to cook with and was easy to use. Sitka was nice to drive and everything felt smooth was so nice to just be able to drive . I will definitely be coming back and using Scotland on tour again it was so much easier to not having to leave a credit card and having the option to pay a diffrient kind of way which I think is amazing as people who dont use them have the chance to still enjoy hiring a vehicle. Very happy with my hire. The van was totally roadworthy despite being quite old, the inside fitted out nicely with a dismantling table/bed that was easy to manage and it was great to have a little kitchen with a sink at the back. I was a little worried that the mattresses would be uncomfortable when I saw them but they weren’t at all and my 68 year old back did not complain! A separate battery provided 24 hour USB charging and LED lights made the evening inside the van cosy, which was good as I had quite a few rainy nights! Loads of storage built in so I could keep everything organised. I was able to arrange an early pick up and the drop off was easy. Definitely value for money. June 2025

We had a great trip!!!!!! We drove from Edinburgh to Skye and back in 6 days. Would recommend the Candy-van to everyone! :) Clean and easy to drive. Easy to set up. Would not book again. We rented the van after the second day we noticed the tire was a little flat so filled it a few time in a couple days. Eventually while an hour out from sky in pouring rain the tire would no longer fill and was completely flat. we are told to get the tire iron, change the tire to the spare, and find a new tire. We were not given a tire iron. At one point he said" start waving people down for help. I really hope someone comes by you" creating more worry and stress. While bringing the car back he was being anal about the dog hair but the dog is in the car. At that point we had already been stranded in the pouring rain because of this guy not checking everything before the van left and just seemed like the least he could do was vacuum out his own vehicle? The girls who work for him are very sweet super understanding. He is extremely hard to work with. Just a complete ass. No help or reassurance when you need it. November 2024

We enjoyed using the van for our stay in Scotland! They were always very quick to get back to me when I had questions, and the person we dealt with at the pickup location was friendly and sweet. We were quite comfortable sleeping in the back even though it's on the smaller side. The smaller size makes it a lot nicer for driving around on the super narrow roads, especially out in the highlands/isle of skye. September 2024

Super expérience avec Bonnie ! Nous avons récupéré les clefs très facilement (bus direct depuis le centre d'Edimbourg, remise des clefs très rapide). Le van est parfaitement équipé pour 2 : confort à l'avant, petite cuisine pratique dans le coffre, et espace agréable à l'arrière (salon/lit). La conduite est facile. Nous sommes allés à Stirling, au loch Lomond, Glencoe, Fort Williams, île de Skye, Loch Ness. Nous avons apprécié le fait qu'il soit si facile de se garer pour la nuit en écosse, même au bord des lochs. Je recommande cette expérience, surtout avec Bonnie ! August 2024

De overdracht verliep soepel, iedereen was hartstikke vriendelijk en we waren binnen 10 minuten onderweg. Timmy reed fantastisch, en we hebben binnen 12 dagen voor ons gevoel heel schotland door kunnen rijden, van Inverness, naar John 'o groats, durness en isle of skye, Timmy heeft ons overal naar toe gebracht zonder problemen, Ik heb we twee verbeterpunten; Ten eerste was Timmy niet schoon, we vonden uitgepakte, haf gesmolten chocola in de vakje in de deur, dus wij hebben Timmy meteen een grondige schoonmaakbeurt gegeven voordat we erin wilde slapen. Ten tweede, er is een contactnummer dat je kan bereiken van de organisatie in het geval van vragen of problemen, echter dit mag alleen via whatsapp Ik had een super korte, en eerlijk toegegeven ook wat domme vraag, wat binnen 2 seconden beantwoord kon worden, maar toen ik bede werd ik vrij hard afgekapt dat ik een appje moest sturen en werd er opgehangen, waarna ik 10 minuten moest wachten op een antwoord via whatsapp Dit had prima gewoon even via het telefoontje beantwoord kunnen worden en dan hadden ze daarna kunnen zeggen dat ik voortaan alleen mocht appen. Verder alles prima geregeld, hartstikke tevreden, ik zou de organisatie nog een keer gebruiken en aanraden aan anderen. August 2024

super expérience et super van ! August 2024

I took this campervan for 6 days. I drove around 1120km with it. I’m french, left driving is not easy at the begining but you just need to be focus the first few hours. Masha is easy to drive. All stuff inside are not new but doing a good job. Everything is convenient. It doesn’t use a lot of petrol, it depends how you drive. I advise you to take the linen option to be sure to be confortable and don’t be cold at night. Automatic gear is very smooth. I recommand Masha for your trip around Scotland and use the app Park4night to get good advice where to sleep, take shower or park. Thank you for this experience ! August 2024

We hebben een hele mooie reis gehad! Prima camper met alle gemakken die je nodig hebt. Wel zat er bij ons een mankement in het stuur waarvan men belooft heeft hier naar te gaan kijken! en oogt hij op de foto s wel een stuk mooier, maar uitstraling is niet het belangrijkste in deze! Voor ons was het prima! Er zitten wat vocht/ schimmel plekjes ( door de vele regen) deze zouden misschien weg gehaald kunnen worden. Toont wat frisser. Verder alles prima! Fijn om een camper te kunnen gebruiken in dit prachtige land! July 2024

The van was really comfortable and easy to inhabit. It's nice that the pickup is a little outside the city center so you can quickly get on the road and avoid stressful city traffic, but it's still fairly easy accessible from the airport. A few utilities were missing and the van had some minor previous damages that had to be mended but Jo was very helpful with any questions regarding these. Overall we had a great week in Gracie July 2024

Handover person shouted at me because he was late (which they told me about 1hr before and said I could wait in the office which was locked. They didn't add on to my return time or give any refund or even an apology for the delay - so I just lost 2.5hrs of travel time). The van is okay, very basic. Bedding is extra despite being pictured with bedding. The vans are in kph (UK is MPH). Kitchenette gets you a decent meal and a tea whenever you want, and Scotland has water stations at tourist stops to fill up for the sink. Radio doesn't really work (FM only so crackly) and if you have a new phone without a jack it's music from your phone only. They do provide 1 usb to usbc adaptor for charging and a stand for your phone for maps. The bed is tight, I'm 5"2 and fitted in okay but if you're tall it'll be a squeeze. GBoony take the 1k deposit as a payment (they say near the trip date but it's taken 20 days before), but it was returned after about 5 days post trip (luckily I didn't get charged interest on my credit card but because it's not a hold charge it affected my credit score because of a 'significant balance increase'). I had such a lovely trip in my On Tour camper van. Check in was easy and also return. I traveled up to the highlands (highland folk museum bound) and camped alongside lochs along the way. The camper was very basic, but that is enough for me as I am usually a tent camper. Jo was super helpful when I needed it and gracious when I had an unfortunate flat tire! All ended well and I was back in the road, happily camping. July 2024

I'm trying my best here to be fair. I had rented out this van for a festival so I would not worry about rainy conditions for a tent. The overall customer expierence at their office was not the friendliest (van pick up due at 3PM but was not actually given the van until 3.40PM). I was told the van had half a tank and were eager to get me to sign until I physically checked the van and found it had more like 3/8th of a tank (may not seem like much but it is a big tank) the drive was smooth and pulls really well, I had an issue with the window where the response was very quick. The facilities were really cool, I loved the kitchen Idea and the fact there was a shelter behind the van for when I'm cooking or washing dishes or making tea. the upsetting part is when I got to my festival campsite and returned to the van at night to sleep and found the bedding to be wet (I thought this was due to prehaps opening the door and accidentally pushing rain water inside). I woke up by drops of water from the ceiling on my face at 4.30AM. I had advised their whatsapp number of the issue and they suggested that I either park the van at an angle (terrible decision regarding you would not be able to sleep at an angle and that I'm also on blood thinners) or visit a bodyshop for the repairs without any consideration to compensate me for the time I'm taking out of my paid rental time to phone up garages to arrange repairs, drive to and from the bodyshop, or the fuel cost (driving the van economically costs about £10/50 minutes). The host knew I was stationary at a festival, a more viable approach was to make the calls themselves and send a mobile mechanic down to make the repairs while the vehicle is stationary but rather expected the paying customer to fix the vehicle on their own time. I made temporar repairs but had to wait until midday as I was in a quite-family camping area and could not be noisey. The tarp I placed on top also meant I have lost all aspects of natural light from the roof nor was I able to watch the starts or sky as I slept. I tried to ask nicely for a compensation for the water leak that woke me up at 4.30AM but instead being offered a 9% compensation of my original fee which is laughable considering they see the issue of a water leak as minor rather than something major - it is a small van with not much place to sleep or go. They then told me "We do not gurantee our own vans". What a re-assuring response. This is a harsh host that would punish the customer and claim for maximum damage if the customer is at wrong but would not return the favour the other way and rathert would want to compensate "proportionally". wonder what compensation they would ask for had they too got woken up by chinese water torture at 4.30AM. Now sadly I'm having to take the dispute root. July 2024

Ok so just to clarify the situation. We let them know about our arrival time (17:30 meaning reaching the pick-up point at 19:00) 2 months in advance during the booking procedure. On this occasion, nothing seemed to be a problem for them but then on arrival day, they told us that they would have to make a late check-in for us because they were closing. This was not an issue for us because in the end we received our car so we were happy. Now, what they are now accusing us of is that we didn't want to pay the fine for driving in a low emission zone of Edinburgh. This is true: we did not want to. They have never told us that the car was non-low emission so how are we supposed to know if we are allowed to drive there or not. They were very clear in saying that the car goes with unleaded fuel and so on, so why would that detail be left out? We do however understand that it falls under our responsibility because we were the ones driving and, in fact, we did offer to pay 50/50. This was of course refused by them with repeated rude words. In the end, because we are talking about 30£ we ended paying to leave the situation behind us. But honestly we would not recommend them to anyone. Communication during the rent was difficult when questions were asked from our side but then when they needed to clarify things for their benefits, they were very quick on the keyboard... Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Camper! Gebucht hatten wir ihn für 9 Nächte und haben sowohl den Early Check-in (ab 12 Uhr) und Late Check-Out (bis 14 Uhr) dazu gebucht, da das für unsere weitere Reise besser passte. Für jeweils 20£ okay und es hat uns Wartezeit erspart. Sowohl beim Check-in als auch Check-out war sehr freundliches Personal vor Ort, die mit uns den Goboony-Vertrag durchgegangen ist und das Auto gezeigt hat. Wir hatten leider nicht das gebuchte Auto Dasha erhalten, aber eins mit gleicher Ausstattung (San, in grau-orange). Unter der Liegefläche hat man einen recht großen Stauraum, in den unser Koffer problemlos passte. Da man aber recht viel rumräumen muss aufgrund der Größe hatten wir hier nur Sachen verstaut, die wir weniger brauchten. Der Tisch lässt sich zur erweiterten Liegefläche umbauen. Auch hinter den Vordersitzen und unter der Tischplatte hat man noch Stauraum. Wir brachten so zwei weitere kleine Rucksäcke und einen großen Backpack unter. Proviant hatten wir größtenteils im hinteren Teil bei der Küche verstaut. Zur Ausstattung gehören ein Topf, eine Pfanne, und eine Teekessel, sowie zwei Campingkocher, die mit kleinen Butangasflaschen betrieben werden. Wir benötigten für unsere 10-tägige Reise knapp zwei Gasflaschen. Es empfiehlt sich bei Jo eine weitere für 2£ zu kaufen. Unterwegs hatten wir nur welche für 3,99£ gefunden. Es gab zwei flache Teller, zwei Schüsseln, zwei Tassen, eine kleine French-Press, Besteck und einen Dosen- sowie (Wein-)Flaschenöffner. Außerdem gab es einen Klapptisch und zwei klappbare Hocker, die ihren Zweck erfüllten. Es gibt außerdem eine Kühlbox (keine Strombetriebene, die selbst kühlt, sondern die isoliert). Und den Wassertank für das Pump-Waschbecken, den man an einer Tankstelle kostenlos auffüllen kann. Es gibt eine Freizeitbatterie, und zwei Lampen im Innenraum, sowie eine batteriebetriebene Lichterkette. Was uns gut gefiel waren die vielen Staufächer auch vorbei auf Fahrer- und Beifahrerseite, sowie eine Handyhalterung und ein USB-Stromanschluss, um während der Fahrt z.B. das Handy zu laden. Leider konnten wir unsere Handys nicht ans Radio anschließen, da es nur ein Aux zu Aux Kabel gab und wir keinen Adapter dabei hatten. Es war aber eine CD drinnen und man konnte auch das Radio benutzen. Mit der Park4Night App hatten wir auf unserer Reise immer gute Möglichkeiten gefunden frei zu stehen oder gute Campingplätze zu finden. Natürlich hat man in einem Campervan weniger Platz als in einem großen Wohnmobil, aber wir hatten ein großartiges Abenteuer in den schottischen Highlands und auch wegen Glück mit dem Wetter eine großartige Zeit. Und vor allem bei Stellplätzen in der Natur - passt auf die Mücken auf!😉 July 2024

Compact caper van that is easy to drive but large enough to fit everything in. We had a fantastic time touring the highlands in this van. We had an amazing week exploring the Islands and Highlands of Scotland in this cozy van! The pick-up and return were hassle-free, and the car was nimble and easy to drive on the narrow island roads. June 2024

Stay away from this company. Wouldn’t recommend even for the price. It’s a scam in a remote dirty carpark fit with stained sheets, prison cell mattresses, cookers that blow up in flame balls, volunteers that tell you the wrong information in the pickup booth and finally, Jo, who will happily start a fight and threaten to charge fines for a dirty knife and grass from camping in the cooler (images below) - we spent the day prior and morning cleaning, and were told the cleaning fee we had paid for covered vacuuming. Upon attempting to get our refund for the stained linen, Jo sent us over 40 private messages on WhatsApp which was bullying behaviour, after we’d dropped the van back. We had paid for a cleaning fee and agreed upon that before we left. The volunteers told us it was in good condition and had approval to leave the van. This is a dodgy company who has a terrible reputation on the road it turned out, he doesn’t pay his staff and we’ll be reporting this company to Go Boony. It could have been a must easier experience if we had paid a bit more and gone elsewhere. Don’t go with this horrid company, especially as they have your deposit and card on file. June 2024

We had the BEST time in Gerty! It was a smooth and straightforward process from the minute we booked with Jo. Jo was extremely responsive with any questions we had before our trip, and when we arrived to pick up the van, the staff were very friendly and informative. La communication avec JO est très désagréable, et je ne me suis pas sentie en confiance avec lui. De plus, le check in a été fait n'importe comment en 5 minutes ( Le véhicule était sale à l'extérieur, le bidon d'eau n'était pas rempli, une bouteille de gaz était presque vide,...). On nous a très mal expliqué toutes les choses relatives au véhicule, aux assurances,... Jo m'a ensuite reproché que le véhicule avait été rendu sale, alors que le véhicule n'était pas très propre quand on nous l'a donné et en plus, je paye des frais de ménage !! C'est normal que le véhicule soit un peu sale après avoir roulé 11 jours dans la campagne. Bref, vous trouverez sûrement plus sérieux ailleurs... May 2024

We had a blissful time with our van Gracie. Easy to drive (automatic clutch), everything you need for camping and driving (down to even a bath cards and an aux cable). A primitive but great little kitchenette in the van's trunk. All the kitchen equipment you need is there too. Communication, pick-up and drop-off were very smooth. I would immediately rent it again for another trip! May 2024

Great experience! We hired 'Girty' which was easy to drive, comfortable to sleep in and had all the things you needed when on the beautiful campsites of Scotland. We had a really great time with our selected van: Bella. We had an April tour in the windy and rainy Highlands: but everything has been worked perfectly. Had a great trip in Sitka! Streamline process to pick up and drop off. Van is basic but tidy and comfortable. Easy to set up and pack down the bed/table, with storage space underneath. The small sink and water pump was a helpful addition and the fairy lights were a cute touch! Easy to drive about, and a good size for 1-2 people. Felt the cold nights so bring cosy layers for sleeping if the temperatures are likely to drop. All in all, an enjoyable trip out! April 2024

Good times in a nice van. Easy to drive and the pick up was all fine. Cooking facilities are a little limited - e.g. it would help to have a lid for the pot, and not much power in the cooker - okay for simple noodles or porridge pots. The motor home was exactly what we needed for this trip - plenty of room for lots, there was 4 of us and 1 small child and we all fitted along with luggage, tents, sleeping bags and blankets and pillows! We didn’t actually use the tent box as we didn’t need it but the van was perfect for us all to be comfortable during a 9 hour drive to Cornwall! Very easy to drive too as it’s automatic! July 2023

The process went pretty smoothly! Jo was really nice and wanted to ensure we had a great time. Everything was as expected and the van was really nice to drive. We were really happy with Dizzy and felt a little sad when we said goodbye. I would recommend if you don’t mind getting cosy and showering in the lochs, you can park up just about anywhere in the highlands for amazing views, but it’s also small enough that you don’t have any issues in towns with parking etc. July 2023
