Doris – 2 berth Mercedes-Benz other from 2016

I’m Mhairi and I have 5 years experience managing Airbnb properties. I owned a small 2 berth motorhome called Doris which travelled all over the UK and Europe. She had to go to motorhome heaven though so this van is Doris 2!

This is my rustic self build camper, converted from a supermarket delivery van. I’ve used the van on many trips around the UK.

Doris features a sofa which pulls out to a double bed. There’s a little Lenny woodburner and plenty of wood for a fire at night. There’s a kettle and water jacket for the burner which provides 4 litres of boiling water in around 45 mins - a sailor shower is possible in the cubicle at the back with shower tray. Mix boiling water heated by the fire with cold water in a bucket.

There’s a single hob gas burner and under unit storage in the kitchen area.

The electrics are basic but enough to power some led lights in the evening. There will also be a fully charged battery pack which can be used for charging phones, laptops, extra lighting.

Automatic, and speed limited to 58mph. Cruise control is great for longer journeys and it’s nice and easy to drive. Some experience driving larger vehicles would be beneficial.

The van can be picked up in Dechmont which is around £30 in a taxi from the airport. I’m happy to discuss arrangements for pick up.
