Are you also going to enjoy our Big Dipper?
Our camper has a lot of space. We are traveling with 2 adults and two children, but it could fit 7 to sleep! There are 6 occupants on license plate when driving.
Ferdi is 2.03m and can walk through the camper without bending over. Climbing into the alcove is also easy to do; as long as you don't have the ambition to sit up straight. We have stairs to climb into the alcove (it is not shown in the photos but is there). Because the alcove bed is nice and large, Ferdi's height is not a problem. When traveling with friends, we have also slept on the dinette bed as adults; that was a little tighter, but still possible!
The big advantage for us is that there is no need to convert before someone wants to go to sleep. The children both have their own 'little room' in the bunk bed. Close the curtain and as parents you can still stand in the kitchen, reach the bathroom without difficulty and move freely through the camper. If one of the adults goes to sleep later than the other, this is still possible! One person dives into the alcove and the other has the entire camper to himself.
If you are traveling with 3 children, conversion is not necessary. It is then useful to reposition one of the children before diving into the alcove themselves. For example, a Deryan tent could be placed on the long bench for the little ones. Do you choose to travel with more people in our camper or for a second large bed; the dinette can then be converted into an extra double bed. The alcove may also fit 3 children across the width of the bed; that's fun with sleepovers!
The advantage of this large camper is that it can accommodate more luggage when rented to fewer people. For example, with a folded bunk bed, bicycles can be stored in the garage. There is also plenty of storage space for winter sports equipment. Paying attention to the maximum weight is important; you are not allowed to weigh more than 3500 kg.
Another advantage of the size is that you can also live indoors while camping in less nice or warm weather. We have also been on the road many times in the fall, winter and spring! In the rain, in the snow, it's warm and cozy inside!
If you want to travel with a dog, this is possible in consultation. If necessary, we can place our dog's crate in its permanent spot on the long couch.
Our camper does not have a shower. We have turned the shower room into extra cupboard/storage space. We don't miss the shower. We shower at the campsite, go to a swimming pool, sometimes hang a shower bag in the sun and then shower outside or wash ourselves at the tap.
Our camper travels most comfortably at approximately 95 to 100 km/h. Traveling takes some time, but is leisurely - in our opinion, exactly how it should be when we enjoy a camper trip! You can use it on the toll roads, but we usually don't choose that. You can't go 130 km/h and you also pay a lot extra with this large camper. Moreover, you can visit all kinds of beautiful places without tolls. If desired, it is of course possible! Only then is it useful to add some time to navigation...
Many extras!
