Hello dear reader,
You have arrived at a very special camper. This bus, named Tembo, is a self-sufficient tiny house on wheels. Tembo means elephant in Swahili, and just like an elephant it is a loyal and strong powerhouse. Has never let me down. After an intensive construction period, I traveled with it through Europe for a year and a half. Now that I have settled back in the Netherlands, I would like to share my faithful traveling companion with others.
Because this camper was built by yourself, it is nice if you use it with attention and care. If you take good care of him, he will also take good care of you :).
Tembo has a large solar panel on the roof and a large battery, so you will never be without electricity. The power supply is designed to charge 2 laptops every day. Once a week you fill the 100L water tank and use the geyser to shower nice and warm. I recently also installed a folding compost toilet in the bathroom.
What makes this camper so unique is the living/sleeping area. This can be converted into three different configurations:
 - Dining room (dining table raised)
 - Living room with a lounge sofa
 - Bedroom (fold-down bed)
With a few small adjustments you can completely furnish the room to your liking. It is very nice to roll down the bed in the evening and suddenly turn the living room into a bedroom. In the morning you roll up the bed again, you push up the dining table, and you eat pancakes around the table, where 4 to 8 people can easily sit around.
There is also a full-fledged kitchen. I really enjoy cooking and therefore thought it was important to have plenty of counter space when installing.
