Birdie – our tiny house on wheels from 2024 - 2 p.

Our new camper has been on the road for a little over a year now! And it's exactly what we hoped for! We have plenty of travel plans, but in between, we also want to rent our camper to other travelers.

We deliberately chose a compact model – only 5.5 meters long, a bit longer and taller than our old VW California (and much more comfortable... see below). But actually just as easy to drive and park. We don't like driving a truck... So, deliberately no indoor shower here, but what a fantastic open space you get in return!

And we had it completely furnished to our specifications by SEC Mobile Solutions in early 2024. With lots of wood, rattan, a bookcase, curtains, and summer fabrics. Super cozy, a real tiny house feel. No slick, shiny Formica or standard caravan furnishings for us... And with all the luxury and comfort, of course.

We choose to rent to slow travelers who stay in Belgium or neighboring countries – free kilometers per week, max. 1,250. And caring people who cherish our "Birdie"… We hope to meet you soon and have an unforgettable trip! Free as a bird…

LIVING AREA AND KITCHEN
 Living/dining area/dinette with two wide sofas facing each other and a spacious floating table between them. Perfect for eating, reading, or working. Or just relaxing stretched out. An afternoon nap for two is perfectly possible without any need for a conversion.
Kitchen with gas stove (full gas bottle), refrigerator with freezer, faucet and sink, and kitchen cabinets. Omnia oven for baking bread rolls, for example. Dolce Gusto coffee maker (good coffee is important!) can also be used as a kettle for tea. There is also a portable gas stove for outdoor cooking.
 Cutlery, plates, glasses, pots and pans, salad bowl… are provided.

Lots of windows, lots of light, lots of ventilation! Two skylights, one with a fan, two tilt-and-turn windows on the sides, and two fixed windows at the back, all equipped with blackout blinds and fly screens.
 LED mood lighting that you can dim with a remote control
 8 power outlets (230V) and USB charging ports, linked to a large-capacity lithium battery (210 Ah, enough for several days!) and a 2000W inverter for 230V. The battery is recharged during rides and also via two solar panels on the roof.
 ample storage space in 4 drawers and 7 cupboards
 In cold weather, the Webasto interior heating provides pleasantly warm air in the interior, even when the car is stationary, of course.
 A clean and dirty water tank make the camper environmentally friendly.

TO SLEEP
No fixed beds, but in just 30 seconds you can transform the dining area into an XL bed measuring 1.80m wide and 1.96m long (left) and 1.78m long (right). We believe a good night's sleep is incredibly important, so we also have two luxurious mattress toppers with hotel-quality memory foam.
Our bed system also allows us to create two single beds with a corridor between them! This makes going to the toilet at night a breeze. This is the setup we use most often. Super convenient!
We've provided a Bivvy Loo toilet as a night toilet. It works very well. We keep other toilet facilities outside the campervan as much as possible.
We provide clean fitted sheets for the mattresses. It's best to bring your own duvet, but if needed, we can also provide two of our own.
 230V bedside reading lamps with plenty of reading light
 For darkening the front, we have an insulating outer cover that seals everything off perfectly and can also provide insulation during the day.

OUTDOOR LIVING
 Two luxurious folding chairs with high backs (adjustable) and a dining table are located in the back of the garage/trunk. There's also a footstool that converts the chair into a comfortable lounger.
 Parasol for shade. We can also provide a shade cloth that attaches to the camper.
 'Van 'n Bike' bike rack for two (electric) bikes. It can be folded away with the bikes mounted, allowing the rear doors to be opened. If you're not traveling with bikes, the bike rack can be completely folded down so it sits almost flat against the rear doors.
 Of course, there is also a spacious suitcase to take your badminton set, etc. with you.

TO RIDE
Brand new Fiat Ducato diesel 180 hp automatic 9-speed – drives very smoothly! And plenty of power, even in the mountains. Size L2H2.
Full options for comfort and safety: front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, line assistance, air conditioning, GPS, Apple Car, Android Auto, etc.
At 5.5 meters long, driving and parking is almost as easy as a regular car. Most campervans available for rent are 6 meters or longer.
 We're also available throughout your trip for any questions or problems. Comprehensive insurance and roadside assistance are included as standard in the rental price.

EXTRA ENTERTAINMENT
We provided a projector (Epson EF12) and a 55-inch projection screen so we could watch Netflix on a big screen, for example, from our bed. We also used Chromecast and Android TV. It might be a bit much, but we just did it. 😊
