We're Tim and Jolijn, so glad you're checking out our profile! We love traveling the world together, from Interrailing to backpacking, from Asia to America. Of course, things didn't always go smoothly along the way. Sometimes it was complete chaos or everything was arranged at a very fast pace, sometimes it was circumstances, and sometimes it was just pure bad luck. Our motto has always been a laughing matter: "Oh well, it's all about the journey." It's all part of the journey, and in the end, everything will be fine.

After an amazing campervan trip, thanks to a positive rental experience on Goboony, we knew for sure in 2023: it was time to make a long-held dream come true! We bought our own campervan (to be), a whopper of a van that we converted into a palace on wheels. We didn't have to think long about the name. It's all about... The Johnnie! For six months, we used all our free time to transform our van into a dream campervan.

We designed and built The Johnnie to meet our exact needs: a spacious bed, but also a generous living area for when the sun doesn't show up for a while. We've enjoyed the result every day for the past six months. We're so happy with how our van turned out! After all the work, we decided it was time to fully enjoy our hard work. We arranged unpaid leave and traveled for six months, from the Sahara to the North Cape. An unforgettable journey!

We've fallen in love with vanlife and can't wait to share all our tips with you. One advantage we quickly discovered: traveling with a campervan is much more sustainable (and cheaper!) than flying. It's also much easier to be in nature—home is where you park it, after all. After some hesitation, we decided to rent out our Johnnie. We've had such wonderful adventures ourselves, we want you to have them too! We hope you enjoy The Johnnie as much as we did.
