Loved our experience of hiring Eric from James who made it very easy - from the adaptable pick up time to explanation of the van. James is very friendly and helpful and would recommend hiring from him. It was our first time in a camper and we did all of the NC500 staying in different campsites and loved every minute. What an amazing experience and adventure we had on our first time in a campervan, especially one named Ollie. The beautiful Isle of Skye, up to Ullapool and across to Fortrose; more miles will definitely follow. The whole experience was made all the more easy with the kind, friendly and thorough advice provided by James, before, during and after the journey. The beautiful weather also helped and I believe James had a hand organised this! All the boxes ticked then. Exploring the Scottish 500 in Eric with my son is a trip which will live on in our memories, and one I recommend to anyone that has not visited the highlands. Eric lived up to all our expectations and was the ideal size for two adults, providing an unexpected level of comfort , facilities for wild camping (which we did apart from two nights) and was surprisingly warm. The ideal size for navigating the narrow roads that wind there way around the coast Eric didn't let us down once (though I let him down in the last hour of the trip but less said about that the better). James and his son were excellent 'hosts', gave a detailed hand over and demonstration of the equipment on arrival and a very professional hand back on completion of an unbeatable Scottish 500. Fully recommended for all explorers. November 2024

As previously said, James is a smashing fella who gives a comprehensive hand over. Ollie, was very easy to drive. He was well equipped but the toaster has to sit on the chopping board on the floor as it has a short lead. Sometimes it seemed a bit cramped so try not to overpack (we did🤦🏼‍♀️) Using the table for extra worktop is ideal. Ollie was great for parking and fitting into passing places on the NC500. The night heater kept us warm and toasty. A few times the leisure battery warning went off but it never let us down. - Maybe check with James why? The bed was easy to set up and put away, the bedding was good quality. Having the freedom to see a spot, stop and put the kettle on was fantastic. Parking Ollie up at the end of 2 weeks was like leaving a family member behind 😀 October 2024

Eric was a stellar little pal for our trip up to the Orkney islands. Slept 3 large males mostly comfortably (one slept very comfortably). Loves the little kitchen and the deisel heater is great whilst plugged in. Just the right size tobuzz around try hose remote roads. Not overly big which worked out great. James was excellent to work with and gave us a great orientation. Would totally recommend! October 2024

Wow, what an incredible trip. We hired Ollie from James for our holiday to Scotland for the NC500. James was so accommodating from the moment we booked, to us handing Ollie back at the end of our trip (which we were very sad about!). Ollie was perfect for us, being our first campervan holiday, he was not too big to drive the narrow roads of the NC500 but also spacious enough for the 2 of us with luggage for our 6 nights when pitching up at our campsites. Ollie was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The only thing that would have made campervan life a little easier would have been having a microwave. But appreciate space is limited and we made do with the toaster & hob! James was so friendly and relaxed which made the whole experience stress free. If you’re debating to book with him, we could not recommend him enough. Thank you for everything! September 2024

James was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. James provided a swift, friendly handover and was very accommodating with pick up and drop off times, which was a relief as we were working around ferry sailing times. He went out of his way to turn Ollie around to accommodate an early pick up which we were very thankful for. Ollie is very well equipped and a dream to drive. Small enough to navigate rural Scottish roads but also very comfortable for your overnight stops. We will absolutely be contacting James when we return for another Scottish adventure. September 2024

Handover was very smooth on departure and return thanks to James. Takes no more than 20mins to do forms and James to show you around Eric. We visited Isle of Skye which was magical and will go again. Eric is a long wheelbase version so you get a little extra space which is nice. Eric is not too big to take down some of the narrow roads on Skye although you have to dodge and swerve the pot holes! We are already planning our next trip. If in doubt…jump in and book Eric or one of James’ other 2 vans and go for it! You won’t regret it. September 2024

We had the most fantastic week in Stan, touring the North Coast 500 for five days. James is a professional and very responsive hirer, located a short taxi ride from Inverness/Inverness airport. Stan was perfectly equipped with everything we needed for our 5 day tour of the Highlands, as well as being a smooth drive and perfectly comfortable for sleeping in. The Highlands were a fantastic experience and we look forward to returning to explore more of the country, our first port of call will be James’ fleet!! September 2024

From the start I had good communication with James which I always appreciate, on arrival James gave us a good tour around the van and explained how everything works, he had a mixture of goods in the cupboard for us too, the bedding was of good quality and kept us cosy. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short but James kindly stayed in on a gorgeous day for us to arrive back with the van. Just returned from a fantastic week exploring the Nc500 with Stan the van! James was fantastic from start to end, great communication and a friendly welcome. His son Tom was also brilliant during collection, providing us with all the information we needed. We had a great trip around the NC500. I can't imagine a better host than James. He was very helpful, offering advice and flexibility with respect to pick-up and drop-off times. The camper was not brand new but well maintained. We noticed a slight mechanical issue soon after leaving in the van but it was dealt with quickly so we could get on our way. We will book again in the future. July 2024

This was our first time using GoBoony and a campervan. James's communication was perfect, quick and answered all our queries putting out mind at ease. The handover was great too. James was polite, friendly and explained everything clearly. 'Stan' the VW campervan was great too, easy to drive, well equipped and we only used 1/2 tank fuel over the 400 miles we drove doing part of the NC500. June 2024

We had an absolutely incredible time doing the NC500 with Stan - we fell in love with him within minutes£ He was fully equipped with everything we needed for our trip and pick up was just outside Inverness in a great location. We had a fantastic time in Eric! Scotland is truly beautiful and we took Eric out on the NC500. James was so helpful and I had so many questions and requests, he couldn't have been more accommodating. The van is lush! Clean and comfy. My personal feelings are this van comfortably fits 2 adults and maybe 1 or 2 small children but it wouldn't fit more than 2 adults. The storage is surprisingly big, especially the fridge which held plenty. James has the softest sheets I've ever slept in, must be the Scottish air that makes them so fluffy. Being automatic was also brilliant and made it super easy to drive. We sat out under the awning every night, with the chairs and table provided. Even when it rained, we could sit comfortably outside. I cannot recommend this van, James and Scotland enough. We WILL be back! X June 2024

We were very impressed with James at the handover and extremely impressed by Ollie s presence, he looked great. We were given a good briefing by James about Ollie and he assisted us with the ' go forms' via Goboony. Our intention was to complete the NC500 over the 6 whole days we had, but it was quickly apparent that 6 days was not long enough to visit all the places of interest, so we fine tuned with the intention of going back in 2025. We wild camped in Ollie for the whole period, in car parks, layby's, by lochs etc, no need for a campsite, it was great, he did not put a wheel wrong, he was great to drive and live in. We could not have hoped for a better motorhome as an intro to the camper life. We would recommed James and his camper Ollie, wholeheartedly, It was a wonderful trip Thankyou Ollie and James May 2024

My bf and I just did the NC500 road trip in Ollie and it was excellent! Ollie had everything we needed, and the heater was appreciated, as it can get very cold in Scotland. Ollie is a good size to get around in. Larger vehicles would struggle on some of those NC500 roads. James was very helpful and kind. Thank you so much! We would 100% recommend you :) October 2023

What a wonderful 5 day adventure travelling to the Western Isles in Eric. The van was clean and well kept.....perfectly fitted with all you may need to go off grid. The bed was super comfortable with everything super easy to use. James was lovely, really helpful and very relaxed. Totally recommended James and his fleet of vans. Eric had all we needed. We could travel all roads as the van is never too big. You can even camp on designated sites if you don't mind not having a toilet and a shower for a night. James was easy to reach for anything we needed ( we only had a hiccup with the alarm on the first day which was easily solved). We definetely will book again to explore Scotland further. James made the process effortless and enjoyable, he was friendly, relaxed and so helpful! The van was spotless and very well maintained. James explained and gave us an in depth tour of the van before driving away on our trip. There was even an information guide in the van if we forget anything. The van itself was well equipped with everything you need for a road trip, outside seating & table, bedding, crockery and basic toiletries such as washing up Liquid and loo roll (from previous campers) there was plenty of storage which helps keep the van tidy and organised. We cannot rave about James and Stan the van enough! James was easily contactable and answered any questions we had from the get go. He was incredibly accommodating where possible with any requests that we had. James called us when Stan was ready and even collected us from the station so we could go through Stan and the paperwork together. The helpfulness didn’t stop there - any questions we had whilst on the road were quickly answered if we couldn’t work it out for ourselves. Stan the van was very comfortable for the 2 of us and easy to use. Lots of storage options and amenities with plates, cutlery, pots and pans, etc. and James provided some bedding too (pillows/sheets/duvets) so we just had to bring ourselves and clothes. Firstly, James was an excellent host. Communication was reliable and speedy and he was able to answer all of our queries that we had, he ever so kindly picked us up from the train station and took us back to his beautiful cottage to complete paper work and collect Eric. Eric (campervan) was perfect, automatic and easy to drive, and had all of the resources and utensils that we would need for our trip. It was clean, along with clean bed sheets and a full tank of gas. We drove from Inverness to Glasgow to Isle of Skye and places in between and Eric held up extremely well! Would highly recommend James and Eric ! Had a fantastic winter trip with a number of adventures. James is a great providing detailed timely information from the start. Very friendly and helpful responding quickly to all communications. The van was great provided everything I needed being very clean and well maintained. The gas heater was a great in the -5-10 degree temperatures. James also fitted winter tyres and provided a shovel which were essential driving in the snow. This was my first time hiring such a van and all in all was a great experience. Would recommend 'Stan' without any hesitation and will be back in the spring. January 2023

Thanks to James (and Ollie) for a fantastic 4 nights campervanning around the incredible West coast. (Ullapool, Sheildaig, Dunvegan, Laggan). This was our first camper van trip and can't recommend it enough. Ollie is easy to drive (even over the spectacular, mildly daunting, Applecross peninsula) and is a comfortable, cosy living space. The weather wasn't great so not much opportunity for outdoor living. The variable weather just adds to the adventure, so don’t let that put you off! James was very helpful in route planning and van hand over etc. All very straightforward and hassle free and we really appreciated the lift back to Inverness station. Thanks. November 2022

Absolutely phenomenal trip to Skye in Stan! Loved every minute. The van was perfect and clean, with all we needed. Great to drive and clearly well maintained, we would 10000% recommend! If I could think of anything, a topper for the bed would have been a real added bonus. Please note that from Inverness airport a £30 taxi is required, we tried the bus but no such luck. I can't explain how great our experience was with both James and Ollie (Van). James was extremely helpful and kind from start to finish. He made sure everything was explained through out the van and also provided knowledge on the area. Ollie was the perfect steed for us to completed the NC500 and more! The downstairs bed was extremely comfy and all of the features were clean and in great working condition. It had no troubles with the tough roads found through out our trip. James was utterly brilliant. Always super prompt & responsive with comms. We loved “Stan” and can’t wait for more breathtaking Highlands adventures in the future. James has kitted Stan out with love & proper attention to detail. When our original booking with another Goboony provider fell through at the last moment due to unforeseen circumstances on their side, James & Stan stepped gallantly into the breach. Our 11 year-old & dog slept blissfully in the upstairs section while my husband & I were very comfortable down below once we’d ironed out one snag. This being that sleeping directly on the reclining leather seating proved too hard - luckily our son was happy to let us use his mattress topper. We recommended that James provide a topper for upstairs & downstairs & he said he’d action that. Otherwise, perfection! We’ll definitely be back! August 2022

James could not have been more helpful or efficient with the queries we had before travelling, and went above and beyond to make our holiday a success. Oli was a great size for our first campervan hire as a family; just big enough for the four of us (two adults and two kids, 5 and 8), and small enough to feel confident driving around steep hills and tight corners. Pick up was a convenient short taxi ride from Inverness railway station, petrol use was really economical, and the van itself was in great condition. We'll happily hire Oli again. August 2022

We had a great experience renting “Olly” the VW camper rented by James. We took a taxi from Inverness to Dochgarroch where Olly was parked up beside James’s cottage near the visitor centre & embarkation point for Caledonian canal cruises. James explained the in & outs of the camper. Olly was immaculately clean & we definitely got the impression, it was a labour of love for James, renting out his pride and joy. I am very glad we chose Olly than search for a bigger camper. Olly had a small wheel base & managed the narrow roads we found in the North of Scotland with ease, anything bigger would have been a struggle to drive, I would imagine and there was plenty of room inside to chill. The rear seats flattened to make a very comfortable bed & there was the option of another double bed in the roof which could be opened up when stationary but we had no need to use this as we were 2 & not 4 people travelling. On our return, we felt genuinely welcomed back James & after an inspection the paperwork/contract we signed days before was signed off and we left 2 very satisfied customers. August 2022

James was a fantastic person to rent from, with the camper being located just outside Inverness. Pick up was very easy, as was drop off. James is very friendly and chilled, which made the whole experience that much nicer. Ollie was the perfect vehicle for a 5-day trip around the West Coast - immaculate and in great condition. As a couple, the fold down bed was perfect. The two gas hobs, the sink/tap and the fridge all worked very well. The van is the perfect size to fit on some of the smaller, winding roads too. The van drives very well and the diesel tank pretty much covered the whole NC500 on one fill, which was very handy. All in all, we would not hesitate to rent from James again and hope to do so. Highly recommended. June 2022
