We absolutely LOVED Moonraker and can't wait for another occasion to book her again! The bed was very comfortable, even for two larger individuals! The provisions are simple, but cover anything that you might need and allows for plenty of storage space, which is so important. Simply cannot find fault! We ventured from Slough, up through Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, to Bridlington, Yorkshire for the annual 'Race the Waves' classic car event. We had some fabulous british sunshine and using Pitchup, found three different campsites along the way, all booked within an hour of arrival - a real adventure! Most importantly though, Warren is just brilliant; super helpful and flexible, allowing us to get the very most from our short break - we could not be happier! Warren’s van served well for a weekend at a festival. While old, it worked well. The collection was a bit stressful as Warren had left me a couple of voicemail instructions because he couldn’t be there, but my phone couldn’t get reception. Finally figured things out. September 2024

I want to be helpful to the people thinking of hiring Cyril so I am just going to list the pros, middles and cons! Pros Very good communication both the day before the hire and throughout. We had an issue during the hire, and Warren was very helpful with ways of trying to get it sorted. Very easy collection, Warren was going to be at work, but gave me clear instructions on how to collect Cyril and there were no issues. Bed was comfortable, although if you are taller than 6 foot you may struggle a bit with the length. We stayed in Cyril from Friday to Monday, and with only 10 mins charge per day, the leisure battery lasted the whole time with no issues. Was very 'retro' so if that is what you are looking for you are in for a treat! It was really fun. Lots of videos on Youtube detailing how to set up and work certain parts of the van. We went to a festival in Cyril, and obviously, being England, it rained and was very windy. I was SO happy that we had decided to hire Cyril, we were nice and cosy. I felt very sorry for those in tents! The hob and grill worked well, we managed to cook a fry up in it which we were very happy with! It was really fun to drive, been a while since I drove a vehicle with a choke! Lots of storage places for a small van! Fridge worked very well, kept everything very cold. It was a bit grubby in there but did not stop how well it worked. There are some essentials on board, tea bags etc. We didn't use any of it, but really lovely that it is there in case people get caught short. Cons The listing says luxury, it probably was when it was newer but definitely not now! Although still much more luxurious than a tent!! The problem I mentioned above was we could not get the water to work, Warren was really helpful, but unfortunately it still meant my partner had to suck on the water tap until the water came through which he wasn't thrilled with doing! The water did come through eventually but was only really a dribble so it was hard to shower. The shower room is tiny, so if you are a bigger person you will struggle. I was ok but there are some who may not be. That said, it was still lovely to have access to a shower! Some of the Youtube videos are quite confusing, especially the one to make the bed as Warren tried to do it while holding the camera so you don't get to see a lot of the process but I worked it out! There were some parts of the van which were nice and clean but some that weren't. The blinds didn't work great, I think they must be the original ones and they were falling apart a bit so I was reluctant to touch them in case they broke completely! The brakes are not good at all, you have to really press down on them to come to a stop. There are some bits which are broken/missing, which given the age is completely expected, but I guess if it was my van I would fix or replace them. It may go against the retro vibe though, which Warren may be keen to keep. All in all, we would definitely use Cyril again! We had a great weekend! August 2024

The booking process was quick and simple. The owner was very communicative and provided lots of helpful videos and tips on the campervan and it's equipement. Moonraker has everything you need to be off grid as well as an electric hook up point for campsites. Had a pleasurable stay in the Lake District and Moonraker provided a comfortable base for our hikes. Would recommend hiring Moonraker from Warren, they made our trip very enjoyable. June 2024

I hired moon raker on a trip to north Cornwall (my first campervan trip). This campervan is truly special and full of character. Was really comfy and reliable, and handled both motorway and tight Cornish roads easily. Warren was an amazing and very pragmatic host who helped me out whenever I needed and was easy and friendly to work with at hand over and drop off. Great camper. Everything I needed for my trip and once I got my head around the gas fridge etc… as I was completely new to camper hire and a few odd calls to Warren who was VERY helpful. This was a lovely van, easy to drive and maneuver. My friend and I had a lovely time, and the dog was very happy too! Some aircon would have been great given the heat, but otherwise we had everything we needed. Warren was always available if we had a question and although we were slightly delayed on collection of the van due to logistic problems we all made it work! September 2023

I had a marvellous adventure on Cyril! He has everything you’d need for a comfy road trip camping holiday, neatly and tidily at hands reach and in such good condition. For 30 years old, Cyril is still as handsome as ever 🤭 and all his moving parts work a treat. Considering his size, lots of cute features, quite a lot of storage space and lots of light and headroom. Fantastic trip away once we got the hang of everything. Moonraker was comfortable and provided what we needed at Beautiful Days. We found the campervan to be very economical, getting us to Devon, Cornwall and back to Hampshire on less than the full tank. August 2023

Cyril was an absolute joy. After an initial ten or so minutes getting our bearings on the driving side of things, we got on our way and had a fab 4 nights. He’s an old boy but very well equipped and everything worked like a dream. We both showered daily, the fridge kept everything cool. The cooker everything we needed, the hot water system very efficient and the bed compact but very comfortable. We had great a nights sleep every night. We very much hope to use him again in the future! Warren and Jacqui were great communicators and provide videos to explain how everything worked. Overall we had a great experience. Great van and super easy to collect June 2023

My daughter and I spent three nights in Cyril, wild camping. We picked Cyril up with clear instructions on access to the pickup point, but there were no instructions on how to work the facilities. Maybe if we had been parked at a campsite, we could have just plugged in, but we only managed to work the gas for the cooker off-grid. I didn't know how to turn the pump on for the water or the heater. We also had trouble arranging the bed, which was very uncomfortable. My daughter is a bit taller than I am and could not stretch her legs out on what is described as a king size bed. In the itinerary it mentioned linens, all we found was an uninviting mattress cover and a not so clean sheet! I am pleased we took some sleeping bags. Driving Cyril was an experience! Our first issue was not being able to close the drivers-side door, it took some slamming to finally get it to latch shut. Then while driving down the country lanes the side door flew open and my daughter had to hold onto it while I found a safe place to pull over and then spend five minutes trying to get that door to latch shut. We tried not to use those doors again! You have to double-clutch 1st, 2nd and reverse gears. It made getting back into my 30year old van (with no power steering) feel like driving a Tesla. I am happy to say we didn't drive far away from the pickup point, but finding a petrol station on the way back that had a vacuum to clean out the back was problematic. During our search for a vacuum, someone bumped into Cyril and knocked his back bumper off so we gave up and suffered the cleaning costs. Warren was very good about the bumper, and replaced it himself. But I was a little dismayed by their cleaning practices, (especially in these days) as they clearly do not venture to a deep clean between guests, if they had, they would have found the items that they said were missing. Obviously they were found with closer inspection. May 2023

We had amazing vacations with Warren's motorhome. It is an vintage, reliable and very economical VW T4. It contains everything, fridge, kitchen, heating, led stripes. We really enjoyed it. April 2023

I wanted to plan a surprise birthday getaway for my partner and I cannot express how glad I am to have "stumbled" on Moonrack!! Warren and Jackie were amazing, professional and friendly! The Moonracker took us on an amazing experience and we thoroughly recommend anyone to enjoy it! We will definitely consider having another adventure on it in the future!! February 2023

Jacqui was an excellent host. She was available for questions and concerns throughout our trip and provided clear instructions via video. As a novice campervan user I was a little nervous especially going back to using a manual. Cyril is 100% retro and a challenge but what an adventure. By the end of our 6 day trip I had mastered Cyril, he managed every challenging hill/ mountain and I was a little sad to hand him back. We covered about 700 miles over the 6 days, showered, ate and slept in him. He provided everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 dogs(although very snug), would I do it again YES 100%. There is a Decent CD player, essential to make the experience through Wales authentic with Tom Jones blasting out. Thank you Jacqui for holiday I shall never forget. First Time in a CamperVan, definitely have the bug now, the hosts were lovely, and responded quickly to all communications, The van was just as you see in the pictures, the hosts sent some helpful youtube videos before my trip so I could get used to some features of the van before hand - this was very useful. The van has everything you need, just take bedding and towels. I really enjoyed my holiday and the freedom, and had no trouble on narrow country lanes or finding parking spots when at supermarkets or in towns. perfect for a first timer - thanks for the opportunity, I would definitely book this van again. Jacqui and Warren are lovely people and their campervan is perfect. We were looking for a retro camper, and a cosy one, and Cyril offered exactly this. He is fun to drive, good on fuel, and you can pack alot of stuff into his nooks and crannies! If you want a 90s feel, comfortable, homely camper then this is for you. No hassle with the rental. Moonraker was our first camper van, and I can tell you something, we absolutely loved it! Super easy to drive, good mileage per gallon. We had no issues while on the road and the van is perfect for stealth parking. Sleeps quite confy and we had plenty of room( my partner and I are quite big 🙈🙈, so we were a bit worried). Jacqui and Warren were both super lovely and helpful at all times, can't say a single bad word about them. Overall 10/10 would recommend to anyone! Thanks for everything guys you were amazing! The experience was 5 star, what with the hirer(Jacqueline) being very p!easant, relaxed and helpful. On site parking and a convenient location. The van itself is in good condition and well fitted out for any trip, but is much more suited for off grid adventurers, not your older comfort lovers like us, especially as it is quite hard to set up the bed and even harder to re stow it. That said I greatly enjoyed driving Moonraker as it took me back to the vehicles of my early driving days, though having chosen the hottest weekend we did miss not having A/C. An enjoyable experience and will definitely use Goboony again, though with a bigger van. July 2021

Cyril is a lovely camper with a great character. We took him on a mini break and had so much fun. He might be getting on, but he manages those hills and handles well. The toilet and shower are good to have but in fairness very limited in space, (only to be expected) so we opted to use the site showers etc. Cyril has all you need onboard, and Jacqui supplies the basics, salt, pepper, tea bags and coffee, tea clothes etc. everything seemed to work fine. Jacqui and Warren were super friendly, very helpful and flexible. Jacqui gave us some wonderful fresh eggs from her cute hens which run free on their property. Very happy with our hire experience and we both fell in love with Cyril. June 2021

I had a fun weekend with “Cyril”. Inside I had everything I needed. Jacqui provides the basics like tea, coffee, salt and pepper, toilet roll and cleaning items. You just need a sleeping bag and food. The fridge works off the car battery when driving and gas when parked. Everything worked well. Maybe not suitable for an inexperienced driver as the clutch has character! June 2021
