Campsites in Belfast
Just because you’re travelling to a bustling city like Belfast, it doesn’t mean that you can’t also get a chance to appreciate the nature and freedom of camping that normally accompanies motorhome hire in Ireland. The park is walking distance of the seaside resort of Newcastle, which is known for its sandy beaches, tranquil forest parks, Tropicana fun pool and beautiful Bars/Restaurants. The site is walking distance from a farmers’ market, as well as shops and other needed facilities. Dogs are allowed on site, and your pup will adore the spacious area.
Things to do in Belfast
One of the most interesting things to do in Belfast is to visit the Titanic Belfast. This museum is dedicated to the loss of the famous vessel, and contains interactive displays on Belfast’s industrial heritage including the history of the Titanic from inception to seabed and finding the wreck. Also try to visit St. George’s Market, which is filled with food and craft sta;;s/ The building dates back to 1896 and offers a wide variety of produce and gifts. Perfect place to find a souvenir for friends back home!
Visit Belfast’s oldest traditional pub - Kelly’s Cellars - which is situated in the heart of the city. Try their most famous dish, homemade Irish beef stew, and accompany it with a traditional pint of Guinness. It was built in 1720 and little has changed in those 300 years since. Another artefact from the past are the Great Walls of belfast, a set of huge massive walls separating communities. These were intended to be destroyed 20 years ago, so go see them while you can!
If you are looking to immerse yourself in nature, then head up to the Belfast Viewpoint by the Divis and Black Mountain walk. The mountains rest in the heart of the Belfast Hills, and allow you to gaze over the entire city of Belfast. This landscape is also home to a host of wildlife, and has gorgeous trails to explore.
Events in Belfast
One of the most beautiful events in Belfast is the Rose Week in July. It is a celebration of the international Rose Garden at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park. The event features music and entertainment for the entire family - including bouncy castles, balloon modelling and much more! Or in August you can attend the Hilden Beer and Music Festival, which is Ireland’s longest running beer and music festival. This festival provides a wide selection of craft beers and ciders from the UK and Ireland, as well as gourmet food and a huge range of live musical acts.
