Located near Sheffield and close to the M1, our campervan is a professionally converted 2010 Toyota Hi-Ace with just over 50,000 miles on the clock. It was imported from Japan just over three years ago, and previously belonged to a respected Japanese corporate, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone. Japanese MoT's are much stricter than UK ones, and our base vehicle was well-looked after. With a three-speed automatic transmission, it's easy to drive and manoeuvrable in smaller spaces.

From the beginning very good communication with John, kind and clear. Soon answering and good explenation. The campervan was very clean and gave us a good drive true Scotland. August 2024
Response from John Many thanks for your kind feedback, An! Hope you have got home safely.

Really enjoyed our hire of Sugihara! The van is stocked with everything you need. Including pots and pans, dishes, cups, dish towels, etc. We only really needed to bring our own bedding and towels. It was surprisingly easy to drive, you just need to take speed bumps slow and it takes a little while longer to come up to speed on the motorway. But we found it easy to park in car parks and manoeuvre around. For it's compact size, the layout is really good. One person can be in bed (or making the bed), while the other has room to stand. There's room inside for two adults to move around. We especially liked the double sliding doors, so both of us could get out of the van in the middle of the night if we needed to. The owner was quick to respond to messages and had a detailed guide on how to use the various parts of the van. Overall, would definitely hire this van again. May 2024
Response from John Thanks for the very kind review, Kari. You were a great hirer and I'm glad that you enjoyed your weekend in Sugihara. I really being kept in the loop on your plans, and it's always useful to get questions on the van and its eccentricities beforehand. We now both know that the fridge is happy to run for a weekend off-grid! Happy to hire to you anytime.

The campervan was as described. It drove easily, this was my first time driving a campervan, it felt very like a car. The camper had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and because it was February I took an electric blanket to use inside my sleeping bag (I was on a campsite with EHU). John had supplied an electric fan heater as well. All very good. February 2024
Response from John Happy to rent our van to Alison anytime!

John is a fantastic guide. He had detailed instructions printed out for us. Despite it being our first campervan journey he was excited for us and not worried. Everything went smoothly and quickly. John was super polite, helpful and kind. January 2024
Response from John Thanks very much, Nikhil! We're glad you had a great time, and we'd be very happy to rent the van to you again.
