Go West! Self-Drive's LWB Renault Trafic campervans are perfect for couples or family-sized adventures, boasting significantly more elbow room than you find in VW-type camper, while being every bit as easy and pleasant to drive.
A high-quality pop-top roof provides full standing headroom, as well as a double bed platform that's great fun to climb up to and sleep in. The rear seats convert to a double bed 'downstairs', allowing four to sleep comfortably onboard.
This particular van set-up features a double passenger seat up front which swivels to face the rear when camping, and there's a bench seat in the rear with twin seatbelts plus twin Isofix points for your child seats if you need to bring them.
Pots and pans, plates, mugs and cutlery, linens, duvets and towels are all included, along with all basic domestic necessities, and there's an optional rear-mounted rack for up to 4 bicycles.
In the summer months only, we can provide a large drive-away awning tent at no extra cost - giving you extra living space and sleeping options when on site. We also include a flushing porta-potti or folding camping style dry powder/bag WC (with an optional pop-up WC tent), outdoor camping table with up to four chairs, and a BBQ with charcoal.
If you're not already familiar with driving vans, you'll love the Trafic for its comfortable and refined driving, as well as its economy. (45mpg on a run and well over 600-mile range on a tank.) Car-like driving characteristics, cruise control and wireless smartphone connections to the infotainment system mean it's a relaxing long distance cruiser that's very well-suited to trips across the UK or into Europe - and we're very happy to wave you off on Continental trips of up to 30 days.
The cab is air-conditioned, and there's a separate diesel heater in the living accommodation to keep you toasty on your winter adventures. There are plentiful charging ports front and rear, while in summer the solar panels on the roof keep the fridge running and the lights on when you don't want to use the supplied mains hook-up cable, or when mains power is unavailable.
Go West! Self Drive is owned and run by Chris Rosamond, an experienced camper van expert and consumer motoring journalist, and former member of the judging panel for the annual Caravan and Motorhome Club's annual Tow Car Of The Year awards.
We're very happy to chat about all aspects of campervanning with potential clients, so please don't hesitate to get in touch. We're especially happy to welcome overseas hirers from Europe, Australia, NZ and the US - we have great transport links to Heathrow Airport and London - so please get in touch if you're thinking of putting a UK or European trip together from overseas.
We look forward to hearing from friends old and new in 2026!
