(We speak Dutch, English & Italian)
We offer our beautiful red, self-built campervan for rent: "Vespa"! (As the animated film Luca says: "Vespa è libertà")
It's a 2013 Jumper, which we converted into a campervan in 2024. Immediately after building it, we took it on a six-month trip through Europe, where it proved itself well.
Let's be clear, this is our first campervan build, and the van itself has already seen a lot of miles, so you'll notice it in many small things. For example: the inside garage door sometimes sticks, the sliding door is a bit difficult to close, the kitchen drawers aren't quite straight, etc. In return, you get a unique campervan, full of character! And all the important things work, of course.
Layout:
- There is a fixed transverse bed (190cm long), with my own 187cm I can sleep comfortably in it
There's a large kitchen along the dividing wall, with a 95cm-high countertop – during our trip, we were able to cook just as well here as we do at home!
- There are two chairs with an extendable table, large enough to sit with two open laptops
- Under the bed is a large space for storage (the 'garage')
- There are 6 hanging cupboards, storage space under the seats and a storage space above the cabin
Kitchen:
- Two gas burners on a Campingaz tank (gas costs are negotiable)
- Water is hand-operated and only cold. There's a foot pump and two 19L fresh water tanks and a 19L wastewater tank. We used this for about three days. Because it's a simple system, you can also easily add other bottles.
- Large 85L refrigerator with freezer compartment - you can do your shopping and store leftovers as usual, but the refrigerator does make a humming noise when the compressor starts.
Technology:
- 150Ah battery with 260W solar panel - enough to never be stranded as long as you are not gaming on your laptop
- 4 x USB charging ports
- 1 x cigarette lighter connection incl. USB-C laptop charger
- 230V sockets and a CEE plug outside - there is no converter, so 230V only works at the pole
- Cozy lights in the ceiling and above the bed
Extra:
There's a bike rack for two bikes, but it really can't hold more than 30kg! Our two simple mountain bikes were easily accommodated.
- Our porta-potty can be taken on board; there is room for it under the right seat.
- There are two real camping chairs and a table in the garage
En route:
- Consumption is from 8.5L/100 km on the Dutch highway
- Unfortunately no cruise control
- Driving is easy, the turning circle is small and it is super stable on the road
- The cabin is quiet for this type of bus, so having a conversation in the front while driving requires no extra effort.
- 3 seats with belts (BTW, a third person could sleep on the floor, half in the garage!)
- Air conditioning works great
- A Bluetooth FM transmitter is included as standard in the connection
Please feel free to send a message, even if you just want to ask something!
