Brandy – Classic Fire Department Mercedes-Benz campervan from 1980

Always wanted to join the fire brigade, but not literally because this elderly lady is now a wonderful camper who does not like speed.

Brandy is our beautiful Mercedes 508d from 1980. She has provided loyal service to the volunteers in Lindlar Germany for decades. Since her retirement she has taken things a bit easier and prefers to be beautifully displayed at a campsite. Of course, she was quick to respond all those years and it is not surprising that things have calmed down a bit now.

Age says nothing about the state. The fire brigade has always taken good care of Brandy and fortunately there were not many fires in Lindlar during her years of service. Brandy has only just 50,000 kilometers on the odometer and Brandy is also in a neat and original condition.

Brandy is simply equipped but still fully equipped. As mentioned, it is not a speed monster. 80 to 85 km on the clock is what she feels most comfortable with. There is still room in speed left if you need it for overtaking. The enormous windshield and the seat height make the journey a pleasure for the eyes, you see everything from a completely different perspective. We never have the feeling that you are holding up traffic on hills, you can easily overtake freight traffic. We find it the ultimate in unwinding and relaxing. In addition, when you arrive at the campsite, you not only have the coziest and most eye-catching camper, but you also have something to discuss, because brandy is not quiet at high speeds. She is quite loud but does not shy away from a challenge. We bring the Bluetooth speaker ourselves and can certainly have a conversation. Please note that it is not a modern, kilometre-consuming device, but a unique experience.

The camper is equipped with:
- 2x 100 a battery so that you can cool the refrigerator without shore power and the lights can stay on without having to stand still the next day.
- 2 person bed 140x 190 under the bed, large space for storage. Can be reached from the inside but also via the rear roller shutter. The bed has a blanket, a bedspread and 2 pillows.

- cozy bench with storage space underneath
- passenger seat can be rotated

- electric heating (only on shore power)
- 2 burner gas stove

- 42l cool box 12v and fixed electricity always a cold drink on arrival.

- 2 lovely lounge/sitting camping chairs plus table
- the flashing lights work/they are equipped with black covers. Since driving with blue lights is not allowed. Of course, a quick stop at the campsite can't hurt. The siren is not working to prevent you from accidentally turning it on.

Officially you can transport 5 people in it. The 2 front seats are equipped with a 3-point belt. In addition, the bed can be folded up and there are 2 full-fledged car seats underneath, 1 of which has a 2-point belt. There is sleeping space for 2 people. And of course enough storage space for a tent. Traveling with 4 people is certainly possible and it will be very cozy.

environmental zone exemption due to classic car status. Please note that in some environmental zones it is mandatory to apply for or register an exemption. For the other environmental zones, there is a laminated copy of the registration certificate on the dashboard. If you are parked somewhere you will not receive a fine. Of course, it remains the tenant's responsibility, so find this out before your visit to a city.
