This fun self-build bus camper based on the well-known Volkswagen T4 is compact and fits on a normal parking space, but is surprisingly spacious thanks to its 40 centimeters extra length. The bed can simply be made, and yet the counter, refrigerator and kitchen cupboard remain accessible. By the way, the bed is wonderfully comfortable, thanks to the thick pillows with a 6 centimeter thick memory foam topper on top. The bed can also be converted into a sitting area with some conversion work (15 min), although so far all tenants have left the bed nicely made so that you can just dive into it in the evening :-).
With the pop-up roof up, standing room is created in the camper in front of the kitchen counter, with the roof folded down, the height is limited to 2.0 meters. The two seats can be turned around to sit comfortably in the bus, but of course you prefer to sit outside under the spacious awning, on the supplied chairs at the supplied table. You can attach a side wall to the awning in a few minutes for more protection and privacy. If desired, you will also receive a bus tent free of charge, which you can leave on the campsite (and close) when you go on the road with the camper!
At the counter you will find three gas burners, running water from the large fresh water tank (50 liters), and a refrigerator with freezer that can operate on 230 volts, gas and 12 volts. The dirty water flows into a tank under the camper, which you can easily empty at the waste points at the campsite or camper site. In the camper you will also find various USB charging points, lighting and fans. All camper sites in Europe are stored in the built-in radio/navigation unit. You can also connect your phone so that you can call hands-free or enjoy your own playlist. The camper also has diesel heating, so that you can also sit warm on cold evenings.
There is plenty of storage space in the camper, and it comes with all the necessary inventory and bedding (see inventory list), you just need to bring your own clothes and belongings, and get in and drive away! To make that even easier, you will be given a suitcase that you can pack at home and slide into the closet of the camper. And if necessary, you are completely self-sufficient, thanks to the toilet, and a Quechua sun shower and privacy tent.
The indestructible 5-speed diesel engine will take you as far (and as high) as you want, in recent years the camper has been to Norway, France, Italy and Croatia many times. In recent years the timing belt, clutch, battery, ball joints and steering balls have been replaced.
The camper has a French environmental sticker no. 4 (purple) and a German Euro 4 sticker, although driving in environmental zones is not recommended because the rules can change.
On return we expect a clean interior, and toilet and waste water tank empty. We clean the outside.
