If you're planning a trip to Norway, this is the perfect campervan for you. Once you read the full story, you'll understand why.
Our well-maintained Pössl Roadcamp is a wonderfully compact campervan, only 5.40 meters long (excluding the folding bike rack), making it easy to get around. It's perfect for small, charming villages with narrow streets and parking lots for regular cars. Parking garages are the only option due to the height. It drives like a large car, even uphill. We deliberately chose this small campervan. However, it does have the disadvantage that if you're very tall, it's not the right choice for you.
At home, we have a 1.80-meter-wide bed, so we were very curious how the relatively narrow bed would suit us 65-plus folks. So, a fixed bed with a good mattress is fine. If you're taller than 1.85 meters, this campervan is less suitable because the bed is 1.95 meters long.
In the summer of 2022, we had a wonderful six-week trip through Norway. Only when we wanted to do laundry did we look for a campsite with a washing machine. The remaining nights were spent at the most beautiful campervan sites without facilities or somewhere in the wild (see photos). Because we have a solar panel and drove almost every day, this wasn't a problem. We didn't need the electricity, toilet, and shower facilities at a campsite, which are very expensive in Norway. This saved us about €1,000 in camping fees. In Norway, there are more than enough facilities for emptying the toilet and gray water containers and refilling water. And thanks to the outdoor tap, we were able to shower almost every day without needing a shower tent (see photos). Norway is an expensive country, so the boxes under the bed contained a considerable amount of food, so we only had to go to the supermarket for Wi-Fi, bread, meat, fresh vegetables, and fruit. The many ferries in and to Norway have a price standard of under and over 6 meters. So with a length of 6 metres (including bicycle rack), this relatively short camper is also financially attractive.
Because we found the standard shower in the toilet too cramped, we installed an outdoor faucet. This allows you to shower outside, with or without a shower tent, with warm water! Or, if it's very hot, you can rinse off with cold water.
We regularly received requests from couples with a (young) child. This camper is definitely not suitable for them.
There's plenty of closet space. Under the bed, there's plenty of luggage space. It contains two chairs, a table, and five practical boxes, including an electric heater (gas heating is also standard).
Both front seats swivel and are very comfortable. This is convenient for driving and when you need to stay cozy in the campervan because it's still too cold outside. The table is mounted on a slide and can be adjusted to various positions, which is nice because it creates space. There's also room for a third and fourth person on a bench seat (with seatbelts), but it's a bit cramped, and because we rarely use it ourselves, we built a cabinet for it. This eliminates the bench seat, but it does provide extra storage. If you'd prefer a bench, no problem, that's possible. The cabinet is easy to remove, and we can replace the bench cushions. The photos show both options.
You can enjoy your coffee with the sliding door open when sitting outside is too chilly. Prepare or even cook your lunch on the go.
Even with the bikes on the rack, the rear luggage compartment remains accessible because the Busbiker (bike rack) can swivel away. It can carry three bikes with a total weight of 80 kg. So you can take your (electric) bikes along! This is also very practical if you'd like to visit larger cities. Just outside the city, you can park the campervan and cycle to Groningen, Leeuwarden, Maastricht, Bruges, Cologne, Rome, Vienna, Bergen, or wherever you're going. Just make sure you wear a helmet!
We rent the campervan fully equipped with kitchenware, chairs, a table, games, a shower tent, and other practical items. There's a gas connection outside, allowing you to quickly and easily hook up your gas barbecue (Cadac, Safari Chef 2). There's also electricity for charging your bikes.
The mattress comes with a mattress protector, mattress protector, and a flat sheet. You'll need to provide your own pillows, duvets, and towels. We'll email you a complete inventory list once your booking is finalized. We've also created a folder with photos and user manuals for everything in the campervan, so you can't go wrong. We regularly steam clean the campervan.
We recently installed a screen door and screen mesh at the rear.
The pickup time stated in the advertisement is flexible. We'll discuss this with you, but it's often possible to pick up the campervan in the morning and return it in the afternoon. However, we can't guarantee this.
