A trendy old T4 camper for 1 to 4 people with an economical consumption of 14 km per liter of diesel.
We converted Koos – our green and white van – into a practical yet cozy van with two sleeping berths. We acquired the van from Joost in November 2023; see older reviews. The bed has a 17cm thick mattress, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed!
It's a T4 Volkswagen van with a permanently high roof, making it easy for even taller people to stand. There's also plenty of storage space, so you can take a lot with you! We tried to use the space as efficiently as possible so our little van doesn't feel cramped!
Atmosphere is very important to us, and Koos loves a cozy atmosphere; that's why he's equipped with cozy lights, making you feel like a happy camper! Comfort is also essential, so there's a large battery (180Ah) for the 18L refrigerator, two USB charging ports, and a 220V outlet (only for use with shore power). There are two water barrels for clean and dirty water (25 liters each). You can cook indoors (with two burners) or outdoors on the extendable table with a separate gas stove (you'll need to bring your own). When you're exhausted after dinner, you can attach the hammock to the bus and enjoy a spacious hammock close to your camper. The hammock can also be detached between two trees, of course.
To ensure you don't always have to sit in the sun, the eyelets on the van can also be used to attach the tarp (3 by 3 meters). Extra poles and lines are also included. There are also two chairs and a table, so you can sit comfortably next to Koos. For really cold weather, there's also a small 220v electric heater, which will warm Koos up in no time, making it a pleasant place to be even on colder days!
Inside, you can swivel the front seats, allowing four people to sit on the bench. So, four people can ride, but the bed is only for two. Bring an extra tent, and you can still travel with four people.
After a long day, you want a good night's sleep. That's why we've chosen a thick mattress consisting of three separate parts. It includes a custom-made mattress cover, and after sleeping, the bed is easily folded back up, and the separate mattress sections can be placed back on top. A blanket and pillow (bring your own) go on top, giving you plenty of room in the campervan during the day. The bed measures 200x110 cm and runs the length of the van. Next to the bed are two spacious wardrobes, and your shoes can be stored under the bench. We also have ample closet space, so you can store loose items and groceries.
Koos also has a bike rack on the back for two bikes. The camper is approximately 470 cm long, 180 cm wide, and 250 cm high. For safety, it's equipped with a gas detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher.
Driving the bus requires careful consideration and especially not too fast. It's an older bus (30 years old), but luckily the 1.9 diesel engine has never let us down. 90 to 100 kilometers (55 to 60 miles) on the road is a comfortable speed. If you're going uphill, make sure you don't overrev the bus and keep an eye on the engine temperature. You'll always get there, but sometimes you'll be 10 minutes late. Koos has traveled all over Europe in recent years and can't wait to share new adventures with you!
International roadside assistance, replacement transportation, and repatriation insurance are included. The campervan is also fully insured. I've activated Goboony's daily insurance to ensure peace of mind when traveling. This insurance is specifically designed for private campervan rentals and is therefore the most suitable option. It costs €25 per day. Because I, as a landlord, also benefit from good insurance, these costs are covered by me and are included. You don't pay anything extra.
The campervan is located in Zwolle, within walking distance of the station if you'd like to pick it up by train. Free parking is also available if you prefer to leave your car behind.
