If we were to give this campervan a name, it would be something like "Layed-Back Luke." It's such a great thing! Driving, sleeping, cooking—everything is wonderful in this van.
It takes you everywhere, effortlessly. I'm not normally a fan of driving, but I enjoy covering long distances in this one. I think it has something to do with the high seating position and the surprisingly light ride. And that, combined with excellent roadholding, feels safe even in strong winds.
It's a Pössl, so everything has been thought of. Bed, shower, kitchen, refrigerator, toilet/shower... everything is cleverly designed. There's plenty of storage space, and you can make the most of it. That's nice. If it rains, you have plenty of room to move around. When the sun shines, the awning can be extended.
Under that awning, you can sit at a sturdy table. We opted for a small beer bench and table set. We prefer that to sitting on plastic. We also refurbished some super-relaxing retro chairs with new fabric.
We've stocked the campervan with things that give us a vacation feeling. Most of them are related to food:
We love coffee, good coffee. We love the smell of freshly ground coffee. Everything about coffee. So we bought a good hand grinder for the van. To make the whole coffee-making process last as long as possible. Chatting and grinding coffee, brewing coffee in the percolator, drinking coffee...
A friend gave us a small Italian toaster, a little plate for the stove. So simple. So nice. And delicious, crispy bread!
The bus has a Skottelbraai on board. It's a large paella pan. Simply connect it to the blue gas bottle that's also in the bus, attach the legs, put the pan on top, and start cooking. The pan is so big that you can cook for a group, or make several dishes at once in one pan. It's also a lot of fun making pancakes!
The Skottelbraai also fits a special grill pan. Perfect for a BBQ evening. It's included in the van.
And finally, we provided good cutting boards, good knives, pans and enamel crockery.
Oh yeah, and a badminton set. We don't think a vacation is complete without a game of shuttling back and forth.
The description says the bus has two sleeping places. Technically, you could easily create a third by converting the couch over the table. We don't think that's very comfortable. What does work well is a crib. We have a toddler mattress, pillow, and blanket. We can provide one upon request. It fits perfectly in the space where the table is.
What else? There's so much to love about the campervan. We'll make time for that when you rent it. We'll go over the details (e.g., how do the gas bottles work, how do you turn on the heater—yes, you do!—how do I charge my phone with that thing connected to the solar panels? That sort of thing). Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
