Charlie – 4p neat Karmann alcove from 2002

How nice that you are interested in our camper, we call him "Charlie".

Charlie is truly fantastic; we've been enjoying her with our family for eight years. As soon as you step in, you immediately feel like you're on vacation. You feel as free as a bird. And once you've found a nice spot, you'll be enjoying a delicious snack and drink under the awning in no time.

As you can see in the photos, it has the perfect layout, with a cozy dinette in the back that converts into a double bed (and a movie theater 😉). Here you can enjoy a meal together, play a game, or watch a movie. In the summer, you'll hopefully only use it as a bed, as you'll be enjoying the outdoors the rest of the day.

There is an additional cooking stove available, so you can cook outside.

There are also three seatbelts in the back for when you're on the road. Officially, it has six seats. Those sitting in the back can enjoy reading a book, playing a game, or watching TV, in addition to looking out the window.

With the bike rack folded down, it's 6 meters long, so parking is no problem at all. This way, you can reach the most beautiful spots that a larger campervan can't.

Charlie is chip-tuned and therefore has plenty of power, which is great for on the road. He drives smoothly and easily over hills, so he can easily overtake trucks. And while driving, if it's warm, you can crank up the air conditioning and listen to your favorite holiday music or a good podcast via your phone's Bluetooth.

There are four sleeping places in total. We've even taken five of us to Rome in it. Our daughter's boyfriend came along. Someone can sleep in the aisle while traveling, but it's not ideal. However, it's perfectly fine for one night. At the campsite, the kids can sleep in a tent. Up front, in the alcove, you can sleep safely behind the safety net. That's nice.

Optionally, you can rent two small "2-second" two-person tents with sleeping mats. This costs €75 per tent, including two sleeping mats, for your entire trip.

Charlie has a spacious refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a separate toilet room and a shower room.

If you wish to bring your pet, this is only possible after consultation.

We'd prefer not to rent Charlie out; we're quite attached to him :-). But we don't use him enough ourselves at the moment. And how wonderful to be able to make someone else happy with this sweetheart!
