In 2022 I converted this bus into a camper and after traveling with it myself for a year, it is now time for other people to go on the road with Gerda!
One of Gerda's biggest pluses is that she has a very nice, large double length bed. Foldable so that there is seating available, but when unfolded the bed (with extra comfortable topper) is a lot more comfortable than other camper beds with foam mattresses :)
There is plenty of storage space in the "garage" and in the living area (in the seats, kitchen cabinets and the space above the cabin). More than enough for two people so that there is no stuff lying around everywhere.
Cabinets can all be closed properly to prevent 'flying' items.
The refrigerator is spacious and even has a small freezer compartment, sufficient for a few ice creams, for example.
With normal to economical use, the household battery will last for about 5/6 days without recharging.
Battery can be charged at the plug, but is also charged while driving (dynamo) and with solar panels (when there is sun). As long as you keep driving short distances (e.g. to yet another new, beautiful location), your battery will certainly remain sufficiently charged.
Gerda has a large clean water tank, approximately 48 litres of clean water (with filter). The dirty water tank hangs under the camper, so no problems with unpleasant odours in the bus and easy to empty with a tap. Incl. filling hose. Note: no hot water.
There is an electric roof hatch in the bus for ventilation, with remote control. So you can easily turn it up/down from your bed. The windows (1 large in the sliding door, 2 small in the rear doors) can all open and are equipped with a mosquito net and blackout curtains.
Parking heater available. No toilet (but a bucket for the night).
If you take Gerda with you, your basic facilities are present, such as pans and kitchen utensils, pepper/salt/oil, basic cleaning products, dustpan and brush and bedding, but also two comfortable chairs and a fold-out table for the camping. For safety, of course, a fire extinguisher is present.
If you are coming from further away and you do not have the possibility to 'pack' the camper at home? Then please send me a message, previous tenants have also borrowed other items such as a drying rack, towels or other items that you do not have to carry yourself.
Before you/you set off with Gerda, I will of course 'show you around' and provide you with all the tips/tricks for a stay that is as comfortable as possible :) If you live nearby, you are also more than welcome to come by and have a look before renting.
The time you want to pick up and return the camper is always negotiable, we are flexible in this.
