Van Tourer 600 D
A German camper positioned in the high-end range and which stands out for its design and level of finishing but above all for its exclusive solutions capable of offering new experiences in terms of comfort and flexibility of use.
A peculiarity of the vans is the large capacity of the rear cargo area, in this case increased by over 40% and even more versatile. A result obtained by moving the fresh water tank under the garage floor (accessible via a special hatch), adopting the powerful 6,000 W Truma Combi diesel heater positioned in the dinette chest and thus eliminating the space for the two bulky gas cylinders. All interventions that also result in other advantages. The insulated and heated tank is placed next to the grey water tank and improves stability when driving. The heater in the center of the passenger compartment is more efficient and involves shorter branches for the thermoventilation, which also reaches the driver's cabin. Furthermore, using a 95-liter compressor refrigerator, a 3 kg cylinder - which takes up little space - is more than enough to power the kitchen stove. Not to be underestimated is the great autonomy provided by diesel without the worry of changing and refilling gas cylinders.
In the garage, where the wheel arches remain, it is possible to load two bicycles transversally using the remaining volume differently. In fact, in the standard configuration, the double bed with support and mattress divided into two sections can be transformed into a single bed or a full-width sofa. In our 600 D, a double bed with manually adjustable height is mounted (as an optional), on both sides without any effort, and can be positioned at any point so as to make the most of the cargo space. The removal of the dividing bulkheads, which function as a double step, also allows you to transport sports equipment or long and bulky objects.
Inside, the VanTourer impresses with its furniture design and refined finishes, as well as with the many original solutions that combine tried and tested elements in this type of vehicle. The parcel shelf above the cabin remains undaunted, rightly so in our opinion, as a useful storage space and thermal cushion in the face of a dinette that is only apparently traditional. The independent seats can in fact move away (the device is optional) for greater comfort, especially when driving. The aesthetic impact of the curved shelves is beautiful, practical storage spaces and perfect complements to the line of furniture assembled with special anti-condensation ventilation and the pleasant contrast between the dark and white wood surfaces. The chest, occupied by the stove, is not usable, so the aforementioned parcel shelf supported by a floor storage space under the table comes in handy.
The kitchen block is excellently organised, with a classic layout, with asymmetrical chest of drawers and a compartment with a door in the base, a two-burner hob with a glass lid that, together with the lateral extension, expands the work surface. The bathroom, usually the weak point of vans, is a real strong point in the VanTourer 600 D. The toilet is normal sized but very usable, with a swivel bowl and a sink built into a longitudinal wall surface; the shower cubicle is integrated but for optimal use it extends into the corridor with an additional shower tray (equipped with a protective wooden platform) thanks to the entire wall-door block that moves until it automatically fixes itself in a special edge of the cabinet on the opposite side: the tracks set up on the ceiling allow the curtain to create a large space that does not make you miss a home bathroom. Even more welcoming, private and panoramic is the arrangement obtained in the exclusive lifting roof, present in our model.
